A threesome and then some …

Yesterday I managed to lure Pontus – the god of all drums, including bongos – inside the batting cage, with flawless results.
After about one hour of stomping and beating and throbbing, he had lost about one kilo (2,2 pounds) due to perspiration. But as I said, the result was fucking mind shattering!

All the songs I've demoed for the album, has programmed drumming, which sounds way kool and all, but is easy as pie to do. You know, find a nice snare, a kool tom and some sexy china crash and then just go to town – anyone can do it, and any one can use the same sounds as I've used. So the plan was to get Pontus, to copy all the rythms and patterns and fills, in order to get a unique sound out of every stroke. Also, when I program drums, I tend to write completely different stuff, than any "normal" drummer would do, which is the kool thing about all this; having Pontus play like a drum machine. So, yesterday was the first day of trying this idea out. Having already recorded vocals, background vocals, all the guitars and bass, we then finished with recording the drum parts. And it worked like a charm – a charm I tell you! The song is called »Trust Falls« and is the second song we've finished this far.

I'll leave you with a nice picture from the very scenic route I ride my bike along every monday, wednesday and thursday at 08:30. Makes me think of Pittsburgh and Wonder Boys – my all time favorite movie. So, it's a view I fancy, to say the least!

Have a nice weekend y'all.

This was a fantastic post. I like the means by which you described your viewpoints. I believe your viewers might agree too. Even though, I sort of differ with some of the remarks given by others. Then again what the heck that’s exactly what a weblog is for…to grant men and women a system to speak about their unique feedback and views. Keep up the good work.
